Breaks by an unfavorable microstructure - 1.4724

For the easy processing of steel there should always be a microstructure corresponding to the range of application. At a processing in the cold condition hard and brittle microstructures are not favorable. Depending on deformation degree or bending stress it can otherwise lead to cracks or fractures. In the following case the material is broken while bending. The metallographic examination showed a microstructure of martensite and ferrite. A reference sample with a soft annealed structure of ferrite with carbides could be processed without problems.
