Intercrystalline corrosion - 1.4105

These intercrystalline corrosion arises, if chromium carbide precipitates in critical form at the grain boundaries. Through this a chrome impoverishment arises in the surroundings and the passivizing effect goes lost. The avoidance of the intercrystalline corrosion straight away is possible if the carbon content is restricted to 0,04%. Additionally the corrosion resistance is depending from the surface. If the surface is very smoothly and very homogeneously, the resistance against corrosion is also better.
