Examinations at the material 1.6580
The test series should clarify the influence of the cooling rate after austenitizing on the crystalline structure. The examined material was 30CrNiMo8.
Initial condition : hot rolled 20,00 mm , spheroidised
Heat treatment : laboratory furnace (volume 5 liter) ; soaking of the samples in 5 minutes
Hardening : 850° C , holding time 30 minutes , quenching in oil and cooling at airThe micrographs and the hardness tests were carried out in the core area of the samples.
